Invest in Excellence is a procedure that the Foundation in partnership with the Lovejoy Independent School district follows to ensure that all grants to the district are aligned with the curriculum, will get properly utilized, and will impact the highest number of students.
The process begins when the teachers submit grant ideas to the district Invest In Excellence committee in December. After the grants are considered and narrowed down by the committee, the Foundation's grant committee works with the district to prioritize them. After the Foundation board of directors determines the amount of funds to be granted for the year, they approve the grants based on the recommendation of the committees.
