What is the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools?
A non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the students, faculty, and staff of the Lovejoy ISD.
What does the Foundation for Lovejoy School do?
The Foundation exists to generate and distribute resources to enhance the educational experience in the Lovejoy ISD.
Why was the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools started?
The Foundation was formed in Spring, 2003 by a group of committed parents and citizens dedicated to creating an exemplary and distinctive learning environment for our young people.
What are the goals of the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools?
Raise $500 each year for every student enrolled in Lovejoy ISD to support the LISD vision:
A school, in partnership with parents and community, committed to providing opportunities for students to reach their academic and personal potential in a changing world.
Who decides how the money is spent?
The Invest in Excellence Committees created by the LISD Superintendent composed of faculty, administrators, and Foundation members will create a list of suggested items for the Foundation to fund. Final approval for funding will be given by the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools Board of Directors.
How does the Foundation for Lovejoy Schools raise money?
The Foundation will host the Denim and Diamonds Ball each year. In addition, donations will be solicited through an annual appeal. Memorial or honorariums gifts will also be accepted. The Foundation provides an avenue for passionate giving, subject to LISD approval.
Is there an endowment fund?
The Foundation will create an endowment through specific gifts to the endowment as well as adding 5% of the annual net funds raised to the endowment.
How does the Foundation make a difference in the community?
Strong schools result in strong property values and strong communities. The Foundation is committed to supporting LISD in their goal to enable LISD students to grow into greatness as contributors to their communities.
How does the Foundation make a difference for our children?
Your tax deductible gifts will support our young people and teachers providing for an educational experience beyond what normal operating budgets can provide.
